NEET UG 2025 Application Form Latest News:
NTA is going to start NEET UG 2025 registration. Meetings are going on. What has changed in the NEET 2025 paper pattern?
The NEET 2024 question paper had two sections in each subject – Section A and Section B. Questions were asked from a total of four subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Section A in each subject had 35 questions and all the answers were compulsory. While section B had 15 questions out of which any 10 questions had to be solved. But this year, section B has been eliminated from the NEET 2025 Question Paper. There will be only one section in each subject which will have 45 questions and it will be mandatory to answer all of them.
NEET UG 2025 News: State quota will remain applicable
Recently, the Supreme Court gave a judgment under which it decided to abolish the domicile based quota in NEET PG. The judges said that it is against the right to equality given in the Constitution. But the judges also said that it is justified to some extent in MBBS (Medical UG courses). That is, the domicile quota will remain applicable in NEET UG as before.
Medical seats will increase
In the Budget 2025 being presented today on February 1, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has made a big announcement for medical students. The Finance Minister has announced that 10 thousand medical seats will be increased in the country this year. In the next 5 years, the total medical seats in India will be increased to 75 thousand.
NEET Registration 2025: When did it start last year?
In the year 2024, the notification and application form of NEET UG was released on 9 February. Students were given time from 9 February to 9 March to fill the NEET form online. The exam was held on 5 May and the results were released on 4 June.
Is it mandatory to score 75% marks in NEET?
If we talk about eligibility for NEET, then 75% criteria does not apply here. That is, it is not mandatory to score minimum 75% marks in 12th board. But yes, it is necessary to have 50%, 40% marks (different category wise).
How many marks are required to pass NEET?
- The NEET UG exam is of total 720 marks. Which course and which college you will get in NEET is a matter of later, first it is necessary to pass the exam. The criteria to pass the NEET exam is as follows-
General – 50th percentile - SC, ST, OBC – 45th percentile
- Divyang quota – 45th percentile

NEET Registration 2025: What are the steps
- These steps have to be followed for NEET UG registration-
- Go to NEET official website neet.nta.nic.in.
- NEET UG Registration Link will be found on the home page (after the notification is released and the link is activated). Click on it.
- Register by filling your name, mobile number, email ID and other basic information.
- Here you will also have to generate your NEET login and password. Keep it safe, as it may be needed till admission.
NEET Exam Rules
NTA had made some changes in the NEET UG exam during the Corona period. Section B was added for optional questions in the NEET question paper. But this time this option has been removed. In a notice issued on January 25, NTA has said that it is shifting back to the pre-Covid NEET exam pattern. Section B will no longer be there in the NEET question paper. There will be only 180 questions, it will be mandatory to answer all of them.
